KR Human Performance Pilates (KR HPP) – Assess. Breathe. Move.

In this comprehensive, 3-day certification, you will learn, training directly with Katherine (NPCP-certified), the KR HPP proprietary system consisting of Pilates exercises and movement skills developed by Katherine based on her 17 years as a multidisciplinary movement specialist in professional sports.

You will explore, with Katherine, the relationship between the scientific testing and assessments performed in professional sports and why this process is critical in setting the foundation for an optimized Pilates Training Plan (PTP). 

When working with athletes, either professional and/or amateur, efficiency of movement is paramount for success both on the field and in helping to reduce the risk of injury.

Through this comprehensive learning experience, you’ll understand the reasons how and why one selects specific training protocols and their direct correlation to peak performance. Mastering this skill component will help elevate credibility with your clients.

Finally, you’ll explore why/how exercise set up is as important as the exercise itself. You’ll develop innovative, highly effective training progressions and you’ll learn how to seamlessly incorporate external cuing.

KR HUMAN PERFORMANCE PILATES™ (KRHPP) CERTIFICATION
LEVEL 1

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

PILATES AND MOVEMENT SKILLS CONDITIONING – ROOTED IN THE SCIENCE OF BIOMECHANICS, INCLUDING:

THE KR HPP SYSTEM:

  • Learn about Chain Reaction Biomechanics and train your eyes to see the entire Kinetic Chain in action
  • Training the athlete to access and utilize ground reaction forces through proper Footwork
  • Understanding the kinematic sequence and how to incorporate this science into your teaching method
  • Learn how to identify asymmetries and understand the importance of training accelerator and decelerator muscles
  • Learn about the relationship of proximal stability and distal mobility
  • HIP IR/HIP ER and glute activation relationships
  • Practice breathing strategies with IAP, TVA and Pelvic floor involvement
  • Learn the importance of the set up and full body integration before movement begins
  • Explore the power of external cuing techniques
  • Practice hands-on adjustments ensuring proper alignment and with maximum benefits for the athlete

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:
